Finally splurged and got myself this beauty, upgrading from a duo tempo pro and can really feel the difference. Need suggestions for coffee beans please. I live Toronto downtown, would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks

Local roasters, or Lavazza. I also really enjoy the gaggia intenso espresso beans!

Our City Coffee Roasters is the best near me

Pilot (sometimes I only really get beans there if itโ€™s something interesting)/Detour/Sam James.

I havenโ€™t tried it yet but Iโ€™m excited to get a couple bags from Java Roasters. Sheโ€™s just based so close to me that I want to swing by when sheโ€™s open.

Crema out of Nashville is so good. I love their Tres Banderas blend. For store bought Counter Culture is pretty good.

I enjoy Trade coffee subscription. I get a new shipment of freshly roasted beans every two weeks based on my roast and roaster preferences. Itโ€™s a great way to explore different varietals I wouldnโ€™t have access or exposure to otherwise. Easy to setup a subscription, can pause or skip shipments, or cancel. No complaints in the 6+ months Iโ€™ve had it. Check it out! Hereโ€™s a promo code they sent me. https://rwrd.io/ref_7U2JGOC?c

Find a local roaster you enjoy. If you donโ€™t have one then Chilmark Coffee in MA is one of my favorites.

Try everything to what you like and what the machine does well. I have a friend who has used the BE successfully for light roasts and straight shots, only upgrading to a free-standing grinder years later.

I was about to ask โ€œwhere is the grinderโ€ until I noticed it was a Barista Express. I want to die now.

Verve Coffee Roasters out of Santa Cruz

    Intelligista Coffee out of Chicago

Sightglass Coffee out of San Francisco

Andytown Coffee out of San Francisco

All of these listed do freshly roasted coffee with coffee roast on dates.

Highly recommend that you invest in a vac pac machine, i got mine from costco, about 100$. I vac seal my coffee in 100g bags, thats about 5 double shots each, about the max for a daily if the wife AND i have some.

Then i freeze those bags, this helps them last the longest. I often have a very awesome habit of buying more than i can safely consume in a given 1 month period – which is the longest “fresh” can still be applied after the roast on date.

All these roasters i listed above are currently in my freezer, or my airscape, bags neatly displayed on my coffee station(albeit empty bags lol i just like how they look) anyways, well all but the andytown, the wife and I finished theirs first, it was very good, just opend the Sightglass Single Origin Colombia today, SOOOO GOOD.
