People over the age of 50 in Burry Port, Pembrey and surrounding areas who will be alone on Christmas Day are once again being invited to a free festive dinner on the big day all thanks to a kind-hearted couple.

Craig and Isabel Goodman, from Burry Port, will once again be catering for people at the town’s Memorial Hall.

There will be no charge for guests to enjoy a two-course Christmas dinner, along with mince pies, a festive tipple or two, and good company.

Anyone from Burry Port, Pembrey, Kidwelly or Pwll areas can come along, or those from further afield who have their own transport.

The day is once again being supported by Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council, with donations from Castell Howell Foods, Parsons Pickles, Llanelli’s Tesco Extra and Morrisons branches, First Choice Flooring, Pwll AFC, DJ UPVC and Burry Port Co-op.

It will be the fourth free Christmas dinner organised by the Goodmans following successful events over the past three years.

Looking ahead to December 25, Isabel said: “Craig and I offer a warm welcome to residents from the local area, aged 50 and over, who will be spending Christmas Day alone, to join us for a free Christmas Day dinner at Burry Port Memorial Hall. People will be able to enjoy a Christmas dinner along with mince pies, a festive tipple or two and good company.”
