    “Lower than our customer”?

That’s kinda fucked up. I always tell people to treat the customer like they’re a guest at your home.

Feeling welcome never goes out of style

This is why the castle remains. The white castle. The king remains. The Burger king. The golden arches. The McDonald’s. Ring the bell and you have taco bell. Ring it for more, you gor Arby’s for sure.

Aside from posts here I know nothing of these two restaurants but this first impression of the owner makes me want to eat at his places! Hospitality is everything.

Praying this is the new nyc restaurant trend

  6. This remind me the time that we went to De Santos. Wife order a Diet Coke and waiter just muttered “sure little bit of of aspartame….”
Never went back to that place.

  7. bruiserbrody45

Really good point except his restaurants feel like they’re not following the script.

    Cote feels genuinely unwelcoming.

  8. dirtysoap

Cote is the worst of the hyped restaurants I’ve ever been too. Korean bbq in Fort Lee is better. Theres 35 places in LA better

  9. misterstepsss

All talk with no action. His restaurants have bad service. Pretentious to make it look like they’re doing something but makes a lot of amateur mistakes and is actually terrible. Don’t get me started on the cocodaq menu items.

This is why minetta tavern is still my go to restaurant after all these years. I ate there when I was semi broke and celebrating a milestone 20 years ago, the hostess and wait staff were charming, and the place was old school nyc style and food phenomenal. Burger was steep back then! It’s been 20 years and now I take my kids there, service hasn’t changed, hostess was genuinely sweet, and food was as memorable as ever. That restaurant will never go out of business as long as McNally is running it.
I did not feel the same way when I went to coqadoq

I think it’s cool that Cote and Coqodaq have shone a light on Korean food and how it can be a luxury experience, just like at restaurants that focus on other cuisines. That being said, I hate both of those fucking restaurants and will only go if someone drags me there.

Had a horrible experience with the waitstaff at COTE, to be honest. Our waiter acted like he was inconvenienced by our presence and we’d done him a disservice by coming to our reservation despite my family having nothing but kind words to say throughout the entire experience. My mother said she felt bad for him as it seemed he truly did not want to be there. He then proceeded to spoil a birthday surprise despite being told it was a surprise by asking us, very flatly, if we still wanted the cake (after not bringing it out when requested)…

  13. bailaoban

There’s a reason they call it the service industry.

  14. First-Exit-2661

what is he on lmao neither cote undercote or coqodaq are welcoming

  15. Brunchovereverything

Love cote but Coqodaq is extremely mid.

  16. DetectiveOk3902

At CocoD the handsoap in bathroom was too fragranced. Ruined my chicken dinner lol. All I could smell was the soap on my hands. BYOS next time for me. haha

  17. AquaAllegoria2

This is the same guy who doesn’t like solo diners because they “ruin the vibe”. Based on this alone, I will never eat at one of his restaurants.

That might be the worst mf’ing Yankee hat I’ve ever seen.
