We now need a long discussion on the impact of altitude, pressure and boiling temperatures on in-plane espresso. There must be several adjustments to work flow that I can obsess about.

I mean does WDT require clockwise or anti-clockwise twirling as you fly over the equator?

  4. I was just thinking of doing the same when I next get to fly. This just convinced me. Now to find a case for my gear.

  5. How do you like the Whirly? Looking for something to go with my Nano…preferably something that goes well with medium to dark roast.

Is it better and more convenient than just getting a coffee at the terminal?

  7. If you do this in economy, then I’m truly impressed.

In need this for my hike trips! How does it works? How much? And where?

How is the Outin espresso? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

Is this from the PUSEE line of products?

At least you didn’t use this to boil water for instant coffee….

Ok but any post about food safety always points out how the coffee machines in airplanes and hotels are never cleaned, so I say, why the fuck WOULDN’T you bring your own espresso??

I get it, it seems extra. But at the same time, I don’t trust cut wages and capitalism to do a good job of keeping coffee machines on airplanes clean.

100% will consider this when I start traveling again. My only concern would be TSA getting up in your face about the machine because they don’t understand what it is.

You got hot milk?! Or is that *gasp* cold milk?!!!

Why not exactly. If I was in a position to need one on long flights, I’d want one.

i have enough anxiety and stress flying I don’t think I could ever make this work for me. I drink the plane coffee. I used to fly Alaskan when they had Starbucks pike place as their on board coffee. I would ask for it to be brought when they handed out the fresh cookies, that were never cooked all the way but they were still good with the coffee. It always tasted better on the plane, it must be the dirty plane water people talk about. I have had whatever coffee Delta has but usually just stick with cokes. The delta lounges have automatic coffee machines that make an ok latte.

  17. I have a nice machine that can do this. It’s gotta be better at altitude than the coffee on offer from the cart.

i would be afraid to use it on a plane cuz it looks like a fleshlight lmao

I’m getting sick looking at that dog food.  You may need to white that out too like you did to the seat monitor.

  20. Honestly I had an espresso on a qantas flight. Pretty legit can’t complain.. wondering which other airline offers this?

They had a full line up including latte, cappuccino etc that they were offering onboard.

Why everyone obsessed with milk drinks tho

I do this regularly with a Pietro grinder, a portable kettle thing, and a picopresso.

Get two mugs of hot water from the FA, and preheat everything, including your end mug.

The trick is using all available heat.

I do get funny looks with the grinder sometimes….

Why have I never thought of bringing espresso to the skies?
