My most-used kitchen appliance is the rice cooker—and tonight it does dinner start to finish. This one-pot teriyaki salmon rice is fast, family-friendly, and ridiculously ‘ono.

The most used appliance in my house is definitely the rice cooker. And tonight it’s doing all the work. Let’s make some teriyak salmon rice in the rice cooker. Start with some teriyak sauce. I like to make my own, but you can use pre-made as well. You’re going to pour that over the salmon and let it marinate. Next, rinse your mai premium short grain rice. And you’re going to add some water. Then you’re going to lay in Fulan Mahai edamame. It’s sweet, it’s tender, it’s protein packed. Lay the salmon over the top and drizzle over some of that teriyak sauce. Place that in the rice cooker. Lid down, press start, and dinner will be ready in no time. While it’s cooking, thicken the leftover sauce with a cornstarch slurry to make a silky shiny glaze. When it’s done, glaze and flake the salmon, fluff the rice, add some micake. One pot, crazy easy, totally ono, and best of all, minimal dishes. Save this and make it tonight. Give it a try. Let me know what you think and enjoy.
