Fresh Homemade Salsa Recipe. I made this salsa with simple ingredients. Below is what I did.

Ingredients:
5 Roma tomatoes
3 Serrano peppers
Can of diced tomatoes
Can of Rotel (I used the one with spices)
Cilantro bundle
Lime
White onion
Salt

Base:
Add 2-3 rough diced Roma tomatoes
Add liquid from rotel and diced tomato can
Add small amount of both canned tomatoes (diced-rotel)
Add 1-2 rough chopped Serrano
Add about tbsp salt

Blend until good base

Finishing touch:
Rough chop remaining ingredients and taste before removing to see if more salt is needed!

All right. Today I’m going to make an easy homemade salsa. And uh it’s nothing that’s too crazy. It’s something you could do at home. I’m fair disclaimer, it’s not nothing that’s roasted or anything like that, like roasting my tomatoes or anything like that. You can do that, but this is a very, very good salsa recipe that I like. So, I have about five Roma tomatoes, and I’m doing a rough chop on about two or three of them. I have three serrano peppers, a lime, a white onion, a can of just plain diced tomatoes, and I also got the mediumsiz can of Rotel. You can get any of the Rotel you want. I think I got the one with spices in it. So, again, pretty simple recipe. I I really enjoy it. I think it’s very close to restaurant, but it’s it’s very good, so I like it. So, I’m going to add about two or three of those tomatoes in here. uh my like one or two of the serrano. I think I added actually like one just rough chopped because I’m going to make a paste. I have my can of tomatoes. I’m going to add the juice from that and a little bit of the tomatoes. Not all of them. Uh this base is really important. I think it really brings all the flavor together. Then I’m going to add some of the spices from my Rotel can too. Some of the juice and some of the tomatoes. I wouldn’t say this is too spicy. It it it’s a mild. It does have a little bit of a heat to it, but it’s not overbearing. That’s going to depend on your taste as well. You can add more peppers. You can add uh chipotle or or anything else like that if you want to make it spicier, but I’m going to squeeze a whole lime in here, too. To me, uh I’ve tried it with and without. I can tell the difference. I think the lime really adds a nice flavor profile to it. So, I’m going to try and squeeze every last drop of that I can out of it. Then, I’m going to blend this up in my food processor. You can use a blender or anything else you have. Probably even get away with an immersion blender if you didn’t have it. And then, uh I’m going to add quite a bit of salt. Uh not as much as you would think. Probably about a tablespoon short there. And then, uh I’m going to put this on high and blend it all the way down. This is going to take a couple minutes until it’s almost a pure liquid. Not completely, but you’ll see what it looks like once I get there. So, this will take a little while. You just got to watch it. Then from here, you can pretty much rough chop everything else up. So, I’m cutting up the rest of my Serrano pepper. And then I’m going to use a half of a white onion. Uh, a little bit goes a long ways. You’d be surprised. So, if you like a little bit more, you could certainly do 3/4. I personally wouldn’t add a whole one, but I think a half is just right for me. Then, I’m going to cut the end off the cilantro. pretty much the rest of the ingredients you see here. I’m going to cut, but you can The nice part is you could just rough chop everything because the blender takes care of it. And I’m just going to pulse it until it gets to the thickness and consistency that I like. So, just cutting these in half or quarters. And then I didn’t add any other seasoning other than really what you see here, fresh ingredients and salt. So, and this this turns out great. I’ve made it a few times. I’ve tried it with Chipotles. Uh it’s very good. Makes it spicy, but this is just just right in terms of spiciness for me and what we enjoy. So, I’m just going to show you here. I’m not going to cut it up so you guys have to watch, but I’m just going to cut this into quarters. And I’m going to remove that outer shell off that onion. So, the rest of the diced tomatoes in. And what’s really nice is it’s forgiving, too. So, you can add more salt if you need to later. The rest of my tomatoes in. And we’re going to use all the space that the food processor will allow because we went through this effort. We want as much salsa as we possibly can, but it’s still a good amount. The rest of my serrano going in. Then I’m going to add the half of that onion on top. You can see not completely chopped up. Super super simple and easy. And then I’m going to go over here and cut my cilantro up. Look how full that is. I think I actually noticed uh when I was filming this that I forgot to put the rest of the Rotel in. So, what I did was I blended it and just got everything down just a little bit and added it. It’s not a big deal. So, clip it on and we’re going to start pulsing. Just little bursts at a time. You can go a little bit longer. Just slowly work that down. You see, I’m doing it a little bit longer every now and then. I’m trying to break the cilantro up and go in there with a spoon if it gets caught around that which mine just lets go. Then just check it when it gets to this point. Again, in between here and there, I added that Rotel can in there. I’m pretty sure I know I added it. I just don’t know if it’s in this video. So then here’s a good opportunity to taste it. I actually added a little bit more salt. That’s why this stage is important. Then that’s it. I think this looks amazing. Look at the color. Careful pouring this in. Make sure you kind of make a mess like I did. Get you a spatula. Get all that stuff out of there. Then all you got to do now is enjoy it. This is amazing. Please let me know what you think.
