SEWARD — After more than a decade, Soberfish is closing its doors on Saturday, November 15. SOUTHWEST — El Sazon Cocina and Tragos has closed — for now. Opened in fall 2023, it was El Sazon’s first full-service location with a liquor license. The restaurant is pausing due to financial challenges, but says in an Instagram post that “this is not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.” The owners’ other ventures, including the original Eagan taco stand, their Eat Street Crossing food hall outpost, and Xelas in Stillwater, remain open. 5309 Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis.
UPTOWN — LynLake Brewery has poured its last pint, wrapping up an 11-year run of beers and rooftop hangs. The team cited mounting challenges but says they’ve been “floored” by the community’s response — enough to give fans a chance to help revive the brewpub through an equity crowdfunding campaign. MENDOTA HEIGHTS — Upscale Italian restaurant Osteria I Nonni had its final night of service in mid-October after more than two decades in Lilydale. Known for its fresh pastas, seafood, and elegant dining room, the longtime Twin Cities announced the news on social media. Its sister business next door, Buon Giorno Deli, has also closed, though the owners say they’re searching for a new home for the Italian market and deli. 981 Sibley Memorial Highway in Mendota Heights.
Black-owned pizzeria Slice Brothers has said goodbye to its Northeast Minneapolis and St. Paul Frogtown locations. Noted for its New York-style slices, the brand founded by Adam Kado and Hosie Thurmond in 2021 now operates solely out of its stall in Minneapolis’ Midtown Global Market. Gina Maria’s Pizza, a Twin Cities chain with four locations, has abruptly closed all of its restaurants. The pizzeria posted a message on its website that says, “This decision did not come easily.
