#hotdog #barbeque

These are hot dog pine cones. And if you want to impress on a budget, make this. I don’t want to impress. I just need to be on a budget. All you need is some hot dogs, and you’re going to make a cross-hatch pattern to create that pine cone look. I’ll need some hot dogs cut in a cross-hatch pattern. And what kind of pine cone looks like that? Use mustard as a binder and your favorite barbecue rub. Use mustard as a binder. And my favorite barbecue rub is salt and pepper. Now, you can do this in an oven, but because it’s barbecue month, I’m putting it in my smoker. Now, I can do this in my smoker, but because I don’t have one, I’m going to do it in my oven. 300° and we’re going to cook this for 30 minutes. It should look like this. After 30 minutes at 300, it does look like that. We’re going to cut it into thirds and put it in a pan. Then add honey and Melinda’s Japanese barbecue sauce for that umami flavor. Then cut it into thirds. Add some honey, regular barbecue sauce, and some soy sauce to make it Japanese. 350° for another 30 minutes. These hot dog pine cones are insane. After another 30 minutes at 350, let’s see how insane these hot dog pine cones taste. It tastes like a rib with no texture. Kind of like a McRib. 7 out of 10. All right. Thank you.
