It is not supposed to look like that. I’m going show you guys how to make the perfect apple pie. And it’s better than grandma’s. Sit down. Class session. First, apples. We need a lot. That was dumb. I like to do a mix of apples. These are Granny Smith and Gala. We’re going to peel and slice. They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. So, does that mean I can eat as much apple pie as I want? I think so. I cut them super simple. Just cut around the core and just do pretty thin strips. Just like that. Super simple. Good apple. You need about 1,000 grams, which is like nine applesish. This is optional. A little lemon juice. It just helps prevent it from browning. We’re going to do 3/4 cup of brown sugar. This is the best container. Your brown sugar will never dry out. One, a half a cup of white sugar. Some cinnamon. A whole lot of cinnamon. And a little bit of nutmeg. This you could adjust to your preference. You can add ginger. You can add more cinnamon. More nutmeg. Wherever you want. Bakers don’t add enough salt. You need salt. I’m feeling bougie. I’m going to add a little bit of allspice and ginger, too. And we also need 3 tablebsp of flour. This is going to thicken it up. Now, give this a mix. This is what it should look like. Taste it. Now, most recipes stop here, but I’m going to tell you guys my secret, okay? No one’s doing this. 3/4 cup of heavy cream. And to that, we’re going to add in two egg yolks. The yellow part. We know that. This is almost going to create a custard in the apple pie. Almost like melted ice cream. You got to trust me. Try it. Obviously, vanilla. Measure with your heart. And now simply pour it over the apples. We’re not cooking it, nothing like that. These are the best tools. This is what it’s going to look like. You did it right. Trust me. That’s it. It’s that simple. Grab a pie crust. I like to pre-bake mine so it doesn’t get a soggy bottom. Add in your apples and all of that sauce. Now you can add a crumble, lattice, whatever you want. Just cover it up. Now you’re going to bake at 425 for about 20 minutes. That’s going to give it a nice puff. And then reduce it to 375 for like an hour. Okay. Great things take time. We did that. It’s time to eat. Y’all see that? The best part. Now get to bacon.
