📝 RECIPE DETAILS 📝

For the Dough:

· 1 glass of warm water (200 ml)
· 1 glass of warm milk (200 ml)
· 1 package of instant dry yeast
· 1 teaspoon of salt
· 5 glasses of all-purpose flour (adjust as needed)
· ½ tea glass of sunflower oil

For the Minced Meat Filling:

· 500g minced meat
· 2 onions, finely chopped
· 2 green peppers, finely chopped
· 2 tablespoons tomato paste
· 3 tomatoes, grated or finely chopped
· Spices: Black pepper, red pepper flakes, salt
· Sunflower oil for sautéing

For the Cheese Filling:

· Your favorite melting cheese (like mozzarella, feta, or a Turkish white cheese), crumbled or grated.

For the Egg Wash (for that perfect shine!):

· 1 egg yolk
· 1 teaspoon of oil
· 1 teaspoon of milk

👨‍🍳 METHOD:

1. Make the Dough: Combine warm milk and water, yeast, salt, and oil. Gradually add the flour and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
2. Prepare the Filling: Sauté onions and peppers. Add the minced meat and cook until browned. Stir in the tomato paste, grated tomatoes, and spices. Cook until the liquid evaporates. Let it cool.
3. Assemble: Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape. Add your filling to the center, leaving a border. Fold the edges over and pinch the ends to form the classic “boat” shape.
4. Bake: Brush the edges generously with the egg wash mixture. Bake in a preheated 200°C (390°F) oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
