Fangst No.1, Jose's Mackerel pate, sourdough, olive jam, dried apricot, guindilla, cheese. Both cans are new to me

Fangst Brisling No.1 – 10/10. Tender without being mushy, perfect salt level and a very clean smoky taste. Mild but perfect as is. I see why this is so popular on this sub

Jose Gourmet Mackeral pate – Spiced but not spicy. Texture is soft but not not a homogenous paste. It's nice but not a standout for me. Greatly improved by being accompanied with butter/mayo

    Those fish pates are so good. I loved the fact in Portugal, you almost always got some sardine pate and a couple of bits of bread as a pre starter snack at restaurants.
