I’m making the recipes from the back of packages to see if they’re good or garbage. This is episode 17 and today we’re making members Mark Kane light brown sugar chocolate chip cookies. This is the first recipe I’ve ever made that uses Crisco. And man, that stuff is hard to get off your hands. After combining equal parts of the soybean shortening and unsalted butter, this recipe follows a similar path to your standard brown sugar chocolate chip cookie. The only additional difference being adding chopped nuts of your choice, which I chose pecans for. Let me know in the comments what nuts you would have selected. This video is also episode 5 of Cooking with Grandma. Let’s hear her opinion on the dough. What do you think of the cookies, Grandma? The dough is good. Thanks, Grandma. After baking in the oven at 375 for 8 minutes, we both agreed these cookies were fantastic. This recipe is multi-chef approved.

“Thanks grandma” 😊 so cute
Yummm! I would have picked pecans, too! Grandma's so sweet 😊❤
keep it up! your videos are great
I am loving this series
Same here
Recipe says chopped nuts proceeds to put unchopped nuts
Toasting those pecans before chopping them and adding them to the dough would add a nice additional level of flavor without very much work, you could do it while the oven is preheating on the same sheet pan that you plan to bake the cookies on so no extra dishes!
They're always good. Do you know how much food science research went into their marketing? AKA it's a super expensive recipe and it's taking up valuable packaging space. That's how I started cooking and baking without a book. Just follow what's on the package and you'll never go wrong.
OK so I didn't chop the nuts…
12/17 Good, 3/17 meh (fixable), 2/17 garbage so far!
Hmm, Penzeys spices spotted
you put whole ass nuts in there they were NOT chopped
You should do the back of mac n cheese and spaghetti boxes
I just made cookies from the recipe in the back of Toll House chocolate chips! Highly recommend the Oatmeal Scotchie recipe on the back of the butterscotch chips, fyi. I’m curious about the recipes on Cool Whip and Velveeta containers…. They kinda scare me.
Cool.
My nuts
Would’ve selected deez
