I just picked up a Gaggia Classic Pro at goodwill for $30. I’m upgrading from a Breville Barista Express so any tips are much appreciated! I had already picked up a used Breville Bambino but I’m having trouble dialing in, going to see if I can make this work 😆

Good find. I suggest you polish it up with some metal polish and speak with the folks at Whole Latte Love. They can help you decide if you should replace rubber parts for your porta filter, etc.

  2. Does it work? Also shook on the price. Thrift stores around me would have priced it minimum 1/2 of new and more like 75% of new.

Lance ~~Hendrick’s~~ Hedrick’s tutorial on temp surfing and “poor man’s pre-infusion” have proven very useful for dialling in lighter roast profiles. IMS basket and shower screen and one hole steam tip are cheap and easy upgrades.

if you can’t make good shots on a bambino, the gaggia is going to be even more difficult

OP buy it and give it some TLC in addition to buying a great single dose flat burr grinder and you are good to go.

Absolutely amazing. Get a good grinder and this is the dream.

I’d YouTube the cleaning regimen and put it through a descale before brewing… Definitely wash out that water reservoir too.

Clean it well, then clean it again and enjoy!
