Ichiran is perfect fine, it is the bowl that got a lot of people into ramen in the first place.
They make fine ramen, not great, nothing ostentatious, a fine comforting bowl of ramen….
You overheard some Japanese person say ichiran is touristy and decided you are suddenly Japanese now…

Reading all the comments I started to wonder what other hyped food has all their culture-snobbish but not even native fans to tell what is the *real* food.
Enjoy your ramen tho, it looks delicious, I would trade the ones I can get in my country for this anytime.

my japanese friends actually love ichiran and so do i, i tried it every time i visit a new region in japan and its been largely consistent. so what the judgmental hell is going on here….? enjoy OP!

Ichiran is for ramen what McDonald’s is for burgers… Only difference is that you don’t have ichiran worldwide, but being in Japan, you can have a better bowl almost anywhere

Wanted to go to ichiran ramen but everytime we went it was a big ass line. So we did what a local told us to do, follow where they go. And it was amazing!
