There is a new one in the always cozy and busy Amsterdamse Pijp resort of choice. bee. The Italian Osteria Carletto is located just off Gerard Douplein and the outside is quite subdued, but make sure you don’t pass it by, because it’s a party inside. There are lots of things hanging on the walls, colorful cookbooks on the shelves, a bar full of bottles of wine and a large oven where pizzas are put in continuously. It is quite dark, but because there is a light on each table, it is that good combination of attractive lighting and dark corners. The menu is small (and that always promises a lot of good, is the opinion here), the wine list is a lot larger (that promises even better) and there is a small menu with typical Italian appetizers.
It’s not big and some tables are just a little too close together. If you mind (we think), you can always ask if you can sit somewhere else. If it’s full, grab a drink somewhere nearby and join us a little later.
