I’ve sampled and painted a dozen Manhattan and a dozen Brooklyn pizzerias 🍕🎨

Part of a series I’ve been working on documenting great Pizzerias in Watercolor. I’ve been trying to sample and paint all the best pizza I can find, mostly around the Tri-State/NY metro area. These are some of the NYC storefronts I’ve covered so far along with several pictures of pizzas from my travels. I plan to expand these sets by adding the other boroughs and some from Westchester county. Who are your favorite pizzerias in NYC and let me know who you think needs to be added to the collection?

    I’ve only been to a couple of these places: Lombardi’s in Manhattan (a disappointment) and Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn (genuinely excellent). I didn’t bring paints either time.

    Love Lombardi’s. I went there many years ago when I was visiting New York City and our server let us go in the kitchen and meet the guys that made the pizza. We got our picture taken with the one who was handling the oven. My butt has never been hotter in my entire life lol
