I LOVE weird and wonderful flavours, what’s the strangest you’ve tried? Mine are the ones in the photo (yes, I sampled them all lol)

I tried the Van Leeuwen Apple Latke flavor last Christmas season and it was horrible because it had onions in it. I’m not a fan of onions under any circumstance that was awful. On the other hand I found Jeni’s Pumpkin Seed and Rye Cookie flavor from last year Fall to be fantastic. It was so different than I expected and really delicious.

Goat milk and lavender. It was a highly recommended ice cream place in York Maine. It wasn’t half bad.
karmacatsmeow-
Basil and it was amazing.

Cigar flavor.
So I didn’t buy it, but I tried a sample. The base was steeped in sweet tobacco (idk?) and other natural flavors were added to mimic a sweet cigar. Absolutely bizarre to the max, but not disgusting or inedible. I don’t like cigars, but if someone did and wanted to be adventurous, they’d probably enjoy that ice cream.
The same shop had a black sesame ice cream, which I got a scoop of, it was to die for. Some place in Long Beach CA or in the area

When Little Baby’s was still open in Philly, I tried their ranch, pizza, and sushi flavors. Sushi was actually really good and tasted just like sushi rice (no fish luckily). The earl gray sriracha was my favorite.

Wtf is up with the Maldon Sea Salt flavor…

Lobster in bar harbor Maine, awful
BigIceTuna
Vanilla gelato topped with balsamic vinegar. I had that when I was in Italy a couple of years ago. It was surprisingly delicious.

Salt and Straw made a really good Olive Oil ice cream back in the day. Irony being I moved to Portland and haven’t gone since, so they probably still do.

Pear and blue cheese! It was delicious, but I like blue cheese.

Tom kha! It’s was flavored with coconut and lemongrass. It was like a sweet version of the soup. One bite was lovely, but couldn’t order a whole bowl
Mischievous_Panda420
Icecream made from betel leaves and jaggery.

sweet corn and black raspberry. i guess i expected it to be more savory? even though it literally said “sweet” corn. it was very similar to corn pops cereal in flavor, if you threw a spoonful of blackberry jam in the milk. it was good!

That Ovaltine flavor sounds delicious 😋 and also the one that says “sold out” with quaker oats yummm
Peepsarefood
Tara’s sage ice cream.

Van leeuwen has a Kraft Mac and cheese flavor that’s pretty good
Fluffy_Muffins_415
Geranium, it really isn’t weird though

Van Leeuwen Kraft Mac and Cheese. Very strange, not horrible but I wouldn’t buy it again.

I went to a Mexican ice cream place and made myself an elote bowl (they had corn ice cream and also a cotija cheese flavor). It was delicious. I told them all they need is a cilantro flavor and the owner was really interested by that idea.
The cotija was interesting because it’s a really dry cheese so you could really feel the textural difference in the ice cream.

I had the Salt and Straw Bleu Cheese ice cream. Had bleu cheese and poached pears in it
So yeah probably the Van Leuwen Macaroni and Cheese flavor

So I go have to mention this separately. Garlic ice cream from a pastry chef who thought he was being funny. It was straight raw garlic and it was awful. I imagine his boss had to have been mad because it would have taken some time to get that taste out of that machine.
appalachia_roses
Wasabi! I tried it at a wasabi farm in Japan. It was surprisingly really good- the dairy cut through the heat.
LovelyBundt
Sesame shoyu, it was a barrel-aged soy sauce ice cream with sesame caramel. It was surprisingly good!
