I was surprises how many kids took some of the canned fish. First to go was the kipper snacks! Only one left was the polar smoked sprats at the end of of the night. And yes, I did refill the bowl twice. Smoked oysters were also a hit.
I wonder what the kids thought when they got home.. like "what is this" and then the parents taking them for themselves 😅

Some kids were definitely going for size

Honestly this is a good thing especially right now. Sardines are good nutritious food, and helping out your community in this time of crisis is big. Many people are giving out milk, snacks, ramen, that sort of thing. This is just like that, but arguably better since they are loaded with critical nutrients, and food insecurity hits young people the hardest.

I saw someone else do this it’s a nice idea! Especially since you can tell if the package was tampered with. It makes a lot more swnse than those potatoes people give out. My mom grew up teaching us to never take fruit, loose candy, or anything homemade from a person we didn’t know

Had those Brunswick’s for lunch today. Quite enjoyed them.

I would have took the herring as a kid, but only to throw at windows of people who didn’t give us candy
