The Crane Resort proudly announces the rebrand and renovation of its flagship restaurant, L’Azure, now relaunched as Azure.

Under the direction of newly appointed Executive Chef Vanessa Dugarte, Azure introduces a fresh era of island dining that celebrates local ingredients in a bright, modern setting. Boho-chic interiors flow seamlessly onto cliff-top terraces kissed by the ocean breeze, creating the perfect backdrop from morning light to moonlit evenings. At every table, cuisine and scenery come together in harmony, each dish reflecting the freshness and flavour of Barbados’ vibrant food culture.
Azure now offers an expanded buffet breakfast each morning, featuring live stations, freshly baked pastries, and local favourites served against the backdrop of Crane Beach. By evening, the restaurant transforms into an elegant oceanfront venue where guests can enjoy bold, seasonal dishes inspired by the coasts of the Caribbean and beyond.
“Azure represents the renewal of one of The Crane’s most beloved spaces,” said John Doyle, Director of Business Development of The Crane Resort. “With Chef Vanessa’s arrival and the complete transformation of the restaurant, we’re redefining The Crane’s culinary story while preserving the views, taste and authenticity that have always set us apart.”
At Azure, Chef Vanessa Dugarte brings more than 15 years of culinary expertise to the table, shaping a menu that blends international coastal flavors with authentic Caribbean soul. Drawing on her experience at leading resorts across Jamaica, Grenada, Antigua, and St. Lucia, she crafts dishes that are both globally inspired and deeply rooted in island tradition. Specialising in Italian and Caribbean cuisine, she infuses Azure’s offerings with bold, seasonal flavors and refined technique. Guided by a passion for sustainability, mentorship, and local culture, she continues to redefine oceanfront dining at The Crane, creating experiences that are as memorable as the view.
A Season of Culinary Evolution at The Crane
The Winter 2025/26 season will also mark several exciting changes across The Crane’s dining village:
POSEIA No. 3 Trattoria Pizzeria: Replacing D’Onofrio’s Italian Trattoria, this new restaurant will continue the legacy of authentic Italian cuisine under private operation by a restaurant group with an exceptional reputation not only within Barbados’ dining scene, but also regionally. Guests can expect traditional Italian favourites crafted with passion, quality ingredients, and heartfelt hospitality in a charming, inviting atmosphere.
The Village Café Expansion: The popular Village Café will move to a larger space within The Crane Village, creating a true café experience with freshly baked artisanal breads, pastries, and an ice cream parlour. The expanded café will also feature an air-conditioned seating area ideal for guests and owners seeking to work from paradise.
These enhancements reflect The Crane’s ongoing commitment to elevating its culinary experiences while maintaining its signature sense of place that keeps guests and owners returning year after year.
