This is exactly like a broccoli / Ritz casserole I have had 100 times except it’s pineapple and sugar. My mind is blown.

Ha ha…I’ve definitely made and devoured this!

I had no idea this was a thing until I went to a family reunion in Alabama. It’s pretty good!
I’ve had a canned pear version, too, but I have a hate hate relationship with tinned pears.

It’s so damn good

This is still an Easter staple in parts of my family!

I’d love it with some chopped walnuts or pecans.

I’ve been catfished with this dish so many times at potlucks 😭 it’s just such a deeply unpleasant dish.

I have an older relative who makes a great pineapple casserole at Christmas but there’s no cheese lol.
Hers is basically pineapple bread pudding. And I love bread pudding

This is a regular at potlucks in my Tennessee volunteer fire department. I never saw it in the Midwest, ever. I didn’t care for it.

This is insanely good with baked ham.

I – um. Wouldnt the ritz crackers be soggy? And cheese with an entire stick of butter?? I feel this has the same vibe as pineapple on pizza….and no wonder obesity and heart disease is a leading cause of death in America

I love this dish!!

My mom often made a jello salad with pineapple and lemon gelatin, with kind of a whipped cream topping that was sprinkled with shredded cheddar cheese. Although I’m a massive sweet-and-salty-together fan, I couldn’t handle the cheese on my portion. It was just too tangy with the tart-sweet of the pineapple. This would be just like that.
