This is a question about something I bought and therefore don’t have the recipe or ingredients to share. I did see the rules about including but if still not allowed please let me know know where else I can post this. Thank you

Damn that’s embarassing- yeah its under

  3. blackr0se

Yeah that’s quite bad for someone who sells bread ngl. I would’ve asked for a refund

  4. OkFlamingo844

I wouldn’t eat anything from someone selling bread that looks like this. They clearly don’t know what they are doing

  5. wolfinjer

They should give you a free loaf and it should be cut in half beforehand so that you can check quality.

The ingredients for that loaf probably cost under $0.50. You should get a free one, not just a discount.

    Don’t go to them again.

  6. OCbrunetteesq

The person who baked this should start looking for a new side gig because sourdough ain’t it.

  7. Ok_Band8044

If I were the seller, I would have refunded the full amount to you and offered you another loaf for next time

Not only under proofed but that pallid color does not inspire confidence (or appetite).

  9. taiylorjo

I can’t believe he would of even sold that

  10. djkhalidANOTHERONE

Goodness it looks vile, I wouldn’t even gift that let alone sell it!

The first loaf of bread I ever baked turned out better than this.

I’m a home baker who does markets and local festivals. This is a genuine problem in the sourdough cottage bakery community. I’m always perfecting my technique and I know I have a great product. Almost every single other baker in the area is selling *massively* underproofed bread like this one. Competition is good yes, but part of me thinks it’s giving all home bakers a bad name. They should be giving you minimum 50% off but really they should replace the loaf altogether.

10% coupon is a joke lol. They should give you a new loaf for free next time. This is way under. Fine if you’re a home baker and still new to baking, but certainly not okay from a business.

  14. kitchenhummin

Wow, I just bake as a hobby and I wouldn’t even give that loaf to a friend for free. A 10% coupon is ridiculous, they should be offering a refund. They definitely should have known just from how it looked on the outside that it wasn’t good, even before cutting it. I wouldn’t bother with the coupon, you don’t want to buy another loaf from them.

I’m so tired of every farmers market I go to, all the bread are flat pancakes or pale and sad. I don’t understand the unearned confidence some folks have to sell these products before they have perfected their process. It’s very annoying.

  16. ajitomojo

I did better than this on my first try making sourdough. I would’ve given a full refund and replacement.

  17. mboyd1992

I sold sourdough when I had my cottage kitchen! That isn’t a loaf that should be sold, that’s for sure!

  18. Striking_Wrap811

I would be mortified to give that to a customer of mine

  19. illsburydopeboy

I wouldn’t even be happy with that as a personal home bake, much less as a sellable product. I’d question the bakers knowledge if this is something they’d sell

  20. booyah226

I run a sourdough bakery and I give full refunds and free product for much less. I have an option for slicing on my website and accidentally sliced someone loaf who didn’t want it. Free loaf for her. Great customer service goes a very long way and if that baker wants returning customers they need to learn that.
If that was me I’d be absolutely mortified and I’d be offering my first born.

10% coupon?! Bad baker and business owner.

  22. ImpossibleBear8176

Buying sourdough from a couple of different vendors made me feel better about my loaves lol. If they feel confident enough to sell at poor quality, then mine is far better even if not a perfect crumb

  23. Powerful_Lobster_786

I baked one like that today and it went in the trash. You can tell if it’s not good as soon as it comes out of the oven.

  24. 10% off lmao after selling that unedible crap?

  25. BattledroidE

Someone said that I should start taking orders and sell some of my bread. I don’t feel ready to do that, I don’t know if I can deliver the consistent result that is necessary for a business to deliver.

But I do SOOO much better than this. Wow! Underproofed and underbaked. And it’s not nitpicking, it’s way underproofed.
