Well, it finally happened. $2.50 USD down the drain. And with a nice geisha, mind you.

I know it’s my careless fault, but I have to say, I’m not a fan of La Marzocco’s new portafilter design.

Ugh. I think it’s bound to happen. It only takes a second’s lapse.

A few weeks ago I thought a Kruve cup on top of my machine was clean so I flipped it over. It actually had a shot I’d pulled the day before and forgotten. Absolutely amazing how much of a mess 48 grams of espresso can make. I can still smell stale coffee, it has to be somewhere I couldn’t reach to clean when I removed the warming tray/top.

Yeah, but your Teva tan is off the hook.

Your whole day is ruined. Go back to bed and wake up again. Start over.

If spilled coffee grounds qualifies as disastrous for you, you lead quite the charmed life. lol

Oh no! Well hope you get to restore your shame with a second attempt.

I’ve done the same, but not with such an expensive bean. Go back to bed and reset that eye/hand coordination!

I’m looking at the comments… We *aren’t* in circle jerk?

  10. I used to vac this up with my Dyson, but oily fines are hard to completely clean out of the inlets do the Dyson. Now I use a brush.

When I knocked over my pitcher of steamed milk, I was absolutely shocked at how far away from the point of impact droplets managed to splatter. Truly physics-defying!

Probably the third most common type of post on this sub is people spilling coffee on the counter. Is espresso really this uninteresting?

Definitely the fault of the new portafilter design. I never had that problem with my Sunrise Instant Coffee.

  17. Acceptable_Mammoth23

Did the exact same thing today either my Lelit portafilter.

  18. It’s like I always said, “you can’t trust a La Marzocco”.

Sure, there’s no direct pictorial proof it was involved (that’s how sneaky they are), but ever notice just how many times they’re lingering in the background of the picture? Hmmm?

Is see the trailer. Portafilter doing a double flip in slow mo. Grounds spilling everywhere. OP screaming a silent noooo. A classical waltz playing in the background. LOL.

What makes this design more likely to spill?
