I got this molcajete from home goods for $30. Do yall think its real?

    By going only off of photos the material does appear to be lava rock & not concrete. If you are looking to upgrade in the future I would suggest a granite Molcajete there is zero seasoning zero chipping from the material & clean up is a breeze with just water.

    If its lava authentic rock, yes. The likelihood of an untouched authentic lava rock molcajete is 0%.

    Great question the definition of a Molcajete is “seasoning bowl” & “stone tool” and granite is a stone so it would still be considered a Molcajete.
