Families across Andover who may be struggling this Christmas are now invited to apply for support, as Monopoly Insurance launches its much-valued Christmas Meal Box Appeal for the third year running.
The initiative, created and led by the Andover-based insurance broker, provides 100 Christmas Meal Boxes to households who would benefit from an extra helping hand during the festive season. The boxes will be delivered on Christmas Eve by the Monopoly Insurance team, ensuring families can enjoy a full Christmas meal together at no cost.
Each box, valued at approximately £45, includes all the essentials for a traditional Christmas dinner. To make this possible, Monopoly Insurance has once again rallied support from the local business community. One hundred businesses have stepped up to sponsor a box at £30 each, with Monopoly Insurance covering the remaining cost to ensure no family misses out. This initiative began three years ago, when Monopoly Insurance funded and delivered Christmas Meal Boxes to 50 families entirely at their own cost. In its second year, overwhelming support saw local businesses join the campaign, enabling 100 families to benefit. Now entering its third year, Monopoly Insurance continues to champion community spirit and support for those who need it most.
Owner of Monopoly Insurance, Joel Kirby, said:
“This appeal means a great deal to us, because Christmas should be a time of joy — not worry. If a family is finding things tough this year, we want them to know there is absolutely no shame in asking for help. That’s exactly why we do this. The community has backed this project brilliantly for three years now and together we’re making Christmas a little brighter for local families.”
Applications are now open for households who feel they would benefit from receiving a Christmas Meal Box. Families can apply confidentially by emailing: office@monopolyinsurance.co.uk
The appeal continues to be a community effort, supported by Andover Radio & Love Andover, with an overwhelming response from local businesses who have already pledged sponsorship. A special and heartfelt thank-you also goes to Cooper Foods for their continued generosity, and to the Andover Foodbank, who have kindly provided the Christmas puddings included in each box.
