Today we’re making an Italian American staple, pane alo vodka. I’m in a pan with a little olive oil, add some finely diced onion and let that get soft and translucent. Then add some minced garlic and then tomato paste for a really nice depth of flavor. Cook the paste until it deepens in color and flavor. And now the vodka. Cook that off and then in goes the cream to create that silky, velvety, and perfectly pink sauce. Season well. Then add your penet straight into the pan with a splash of starchy pasta water. Fold in a couple of knobs of butter and finish with some grated parmyo. And that’s it. Happy National Pasta [Music]

  1. First vodka is never Italian. Second, the only Italian there is the pasta. Amercsns will call anything whatever they want. And feel good about themselves.

  2. Not only one of my favorite dishes to eat, but as a Sicilian and properly trained one of my favorite dishes to make, don’t forget the baguette! Mangia. ❤

  3. I was once told that vodka doesn’t do anything to a dish? Is that true. I was told it doesn’t change the taste or composition at all. I thought the person was crazy who told me this but idk I’m not a chef
