Hot pastrami on rye, housemade pickles. The first real deli sandwich I have had in years. Almost brought a tear to my eye.
I moved away from. The northeast decades ago. Wandered into to this small deli in PA and was transported through time with my first bite. The perfect sandwich.

Congrats on this sandwich.

This is a perfect example of a bad meat to bread ratio. When it comes to meat in my mouth I like the experience to be balanced.

Mmm, half sours

Looks like the bread is toasted?
I don’t get that. Fresh bread doesn’t carve up the roof of your mouth, and absorbs the grease from the pastrami.
Otherwise, looks decent enough.

Awesome! That looks properly stacked! I miss my Mama’s homemade pickles.
