A SPECIAL AWARD WILL BE PRESENTED TO WOMEN PRODUCERS AT THE MILAS OLIVE HARVEST FESTIVAL
The 11th International Milas Olive Harvest Festival, held in the Milas district of Muğla, where Milas olive oil and Milas olives, Turkey’s first European Union geographical indication olive oil, are produced, will take place on 7-8-9 November.
Coordinated by the Milas District Governor’s Office and District Agriculture Directorate, and organised in collaboration with Milas Municipality and Milas Professional Organisations, the festival will highlight Milas’s European Union Geographical Indication products: Milas Olive Oil and Milas Oil Olives.
The ‘11th International Milas Olive Harvest Festival’ will begin with a parade at 3 p.m. on Friday, 7 November, and will officially commence with an opening ceremony and protocol speeches at Atapark. The three-day event will feature harvesting and pressing demonstrations, tastings, competitions, talks, concerts and local product promotions. Emphasising that olives are not just an agricultural product but also a way of life, the festival will provide producers, institutions, women’s cooperatives and local brands with an opportunity to showcase their products.

SPECIAL SUPPORT AWARDS FOR WOMEN OLIVE PRODUCERS
The excitement of a raffle will also be part of the 11th International Milas Olive Harvest Festival. The raffle, open to female producers with a CKS Certificate and 1-5 acres of olive groves, will award an olive harvesting machine, a crate, and an olive press.
Applications for the raffle can be made by calling the Milas Municipality Agricultural Services Directorate at (0252) 512 37 77 or in person at the Kırcağız Neighbourhood Agricultural Services Directorate Jale Eren Local Seed Centre. In the raffle, 10 female producers will receive 10 olive harvesters, 20 female producers will receive 10 crates each, and 20 female producers will receive olive pruning shears.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, 6 November 2025, while the draw and prize ceremony will take place on Sunday, 9 November 2025, on the stage set up at Atapark Square. Ata SEVGİ AjansCANKA
