Woohoo! Some notes on my experience —

We were able to choose up to 3 colors, I should’ve just stuck with the purple and green, but had already mixed up the blue and didn’t want to waste so much.

Piping shells on a cake is much different than on a flat surface! It was challenging to adjust the angle.

I love the look of side piping (I called it draping but I don’t think that’s correct) my instructor called it “vintage”, anyways, I lightly stenciled using a cup on the sides (you can see under the 2 roses in my second pic) to try and attempt that, but realized it was pretty bold and so I didn’t follow through. The stencil remained and I tried to smooth it over at the end but the frosting had already crystallized facepalm

Watching YouTube videos beforehand really helped. 💕 S/O to this community for their helpful comments on how to get started for beginners — thats how I discovered Wilton and their classes offered just down the road from where I live! 💕

So pretty! I love the colors so much and your roses are fantastic! I took that class too, many years ago. I made a lavender cake with roses. When I brought it home my husband’s friend was over and when I brought it in the house, he said “Please tell me that’s real.” Lol I made his day, we all enjoyed it!
