So here’s something I noticed while curating food-themed shows: there are surprisingly few TV shows that explore Mexican food in depth, especially when compared to the abundance of titles about Korean, American, Japanese, or Indian cuisine.

While those countries have entire dramas, films, documentaries, and storylines centered around food culture, Mexican food despite being one of the most globally beloved cuisines, doesn’t get nearly as much dedicated screen time. Mexican food deserves more love on screen, especially considering how rich and diverse it is!

That said, I did find a handful of really good ones, shows that either focus directly on Mexican cuisine or feature it prominently throughout the story. From sizzling street tacos to emotional family recipes passed down generations, these shows offer a glimpse into the heart and soul of Mexican cooking.

Look out for shows like Taco Chronicles, Las Crónicas del Taco, Hecho en México, La Divina Gula, Street Food: Latin America (Mexico City ep), and more.
