The Place Located on level 57 of Marina Bay Sands Tower 1, Lavo Italian Restaurant And Rooftop Bar is a contemporary Italian restaurant with a gorgeous view of the city skyline. The restaurant went through a massive revamp this year and reopened few months ago. I love how welcoming the space of Lavo is, where its interior takes after coastal Italy with a summer vibe, where there are different sections of dining space to cater to different group sizes.

There is also a spacious alfresco dining area which is perfect for sunset drinks with a view of the skyline.

The Food The menu at Lavo is extensive where I visited for lunch. You can expect a wide range of starters, pizzas, pastas, meats and seafood.
I started with the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio (S$35) with black truffle, arugula and parmigiano Reggiano; as well as the Red Prawn Ceviche (S$35) with bronze fennel, sicilian orange and pepperoncini. The ingredients are very fresh for sure.

For pizza, the Black Truffle (S$36) features wild mushroom, sicilian oregano and black truffle pecorino. Nice and thick crust here and if you love mushrooms, this is definitely a must try.

I do prefer the Spicy Calabrese (S$36) pizza slightly more, which comes with mozzarella, salami, lacinato kale and olio santo. It spots a nice tinge of spiciness which Is more exciting for my palate.

For protein, the Chilean Seabass Puttanesca (S$45) with tomato, taggiasca olives and capers is a relatively light option to indulge in, or you can go for the Jumbo Shrimp (S$45) – alla Scampi garlic, white wine, lemon butter – for a taste of fresh seafood.

For pasta, the Pappardelle (S$38) features alla Bolognese veal, cream and parmigiano Reggiano. It spots an al dente texture where the overall flavour is quite appetising.

Alternatively, the Seafood Fra Diavolo (S$46) is a hearty mix of seafood with pasta – scallops, shrimp, calamari, tomato, brandy and crushed chili – which is quite a myriad of flavours all on one plate.

Rants Nothing in particular.
Will I Return Again? A gorgeous concept by Marina Bay Sands, Lavo is definitely worth checking out for the good food and dining ambience. The extensive menu means there is something for everyone, and the interior does make me feel like I am out of town holidaying somewhere.
