A man was shot inside Zaza Wood-Fired Pizza & Mediterranean Cuisine after reportedly attempting to rob the location, according to investigators on scene.
TOLEDO, Ohio — A man who was shot after allegedly attempting a robbery in a west Toledo shopping plaza Thursday night has died from his injuries, according to authorities.
Authorities responded to a call of a person shot in the Executive Market Place, near Executive Parkway and Secor Road, shortly after 8:30 p.m., where they reportedly found the man shot.
Investigators on scene tell WTOL 11 that the shooting appeared to have started inside Zaza Wood-Fired Pizza & Mediterranean Cuisine following an attempted robbery of the location. WTOL confirmed that the robber was the one who was shot, but police stated it remains unclear who shot him.
Several evidence markers near the storefront and a CSI van were also visible on the scene.
The identity of the man who was shot has not yet been released.
Police have not said if a suspect has been taken into custody, but do reportedly have a suspect in mind.
