I am a big fan of turkish flavours, and this recipe is really hitting the spot.
A really easy and quick recipe with a twist for the iconic Adana Kebab that i’m sure will become a favorite of yours in no time.
Ingredients:
1kg (2.2lbs) Ground beef
1 Small Grated Onion
3-4 Minced Garlic Cloves
A handful of Chopped Parsley
2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
1 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Hot Paprika
1.5 teaspoon Ground Cumin
1 teaspoon Oregano
Black Pepper (to taste)
Mix all the ingredients and let them sit for 30-60 minutes. Spread in a baking tray in an even layer and score with a knife (this makes it a lot easier to break apart later); I usually add a couple peppers to the tray.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180C (360F) for about 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes have passed take it out of the oven, transfer the juices to a bowl, mix them with some tomato paste and brush the mixture on top of the meat. Put it back in the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the mixture on top is no longer wet.
The kebab goes well with a lot of side dishes: rice, french fries… but i usually prefer it as a wrap, with a really tasty Turkish sumac onion salad.
Ingredients for the Turkish Sumac Onion Salad:
Tomatoes (2-3)
Half a Red Onion
1-1.5 teaspoons of Sumac
A handful of chopped Parsley
A splash of Lemon Juice
Salt and Pepper to taste
