Saw this (and the extra hot variety) in the store. Italy is not known for it's hot sauces, at least not to my knowledge. So how's the heat on both this and the extra hot? And how about the flavor profile? Can anyone recommend trying either of these?

It’s a tasty sauce. I would not call the original “hot” nor spicy. It’s very tomato based in flavor like you would imagine. Haven’t had the extra hot.
Only sauce I’ve ever thrown out. Tasted like dirt.
Awful
This is hot like German mustard is hot
it’s honestly tasted awful
The extra hot is okay at best. It’s not very spicy. It’s been some years since I’ve had it, but I remember using it only a small handful of times before eventually throwing it out.
Bought a bottle, tried it and then threw it in the bin. Not nice
Terriblly disappointing.
It’s pretty horrible. Not hot, terrible taste. 0/10, would not recommend.
Terrible terrible but pretty bottle
I hated it! Threw it away after my spoonful of shit!
I tried it twice before I just dumped my bottle. Was quite…not worth finishing
agree with all of the others, really didn’t like it
I have never seen such universal distain for a sauce on here. Will not be trying this one. Almost ordered a bottle on Amazon a few months ago.
“Meh.”
Yeah, it’s not awful or anything, but it’s the exact definition of “not very good”.
I’ve never personally tried it but every single time its mentioned in this sub its overwhelmingly trashed.
It was good on eggs, but that’s it. I would probably try an extra hot version if I came across it.
I really like it on pasta and pizza, but it’s not super versatile. I tried it with chicken strips and fries wasn’t digging it too much
Without saying anything negative, low heat tomato flavor, good sauce for grandma
It’s not hot, but it is flavorful!
I didnt like it all
It’s a flavorful, but mild sauce.
Okay on spaghetti. Had a bottle for like 2 years and needed up throwing the last 1/3
I’ve not had the extra hot. The regular is not that spicy. About the same level of heat as original Chiluba in my opinion. Had a bottle for about a year now and only half way through it. It’s good with spaghetti and tomato based dishes, but not much else.
Not hot and pretty meh
This is a sauce that divides people
I like it
There’s a reason even Italian restaurants don’t have this as an offering
Never tried it, …but the bottle/label looks beautiful!
Excellent on pizza!!
I put a splash of it in my homemade spaghetti sauce and like it that way but pretty much only that way.
I loved the bottle but was soooo bored by it 🥲
The use of balsamic vinegar and porcini mushrooms is very off-putting to most everyone that has taste buds. It’s also not very spicy.
It’s hot sauce for people who think black pepper is spicy, both the regular and the extra hot. Tasty imo, but really only good for pizza, pasta, etc.. Very tomato forward, bit of a balsamic zing.
Pissing off Italians and Mexicans at the same time. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽
If you want Italian heat try some Calabrian peppers, ie tuttocalabria

Local pizza shop has it on hand along with 50 other hot sauces. I like it on pizza. Wanted to get some for home until I saw the price.
It’s my go-to pizza and pasta sauce. I don’t eat it for heat, I eat it for the flavor it gives…but I also love the taste of balsamic
Terrible. Threw it away after trying it on 4 different things.
Terrible
Not good
Like most Italian things. Style over substance.
Italian here: never heard it
Great w pizza
