2 cups mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, or almonds) – finely chopped
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp grounded cinnamon
For the Layers:
1 package phyllo dough (16 oz, thawed)
1 cup clarified butter or ghee ( melted)
For the Syrup:
1 cup sugar
¾ cup water
½ cup honey
1 tbsp lemon juice
4-5 strands of saffron (optional)
2-3 whole cloves (optional)

🔹 Step-by-Step Method:

Step 1: Prepare Nut Filling:
➡️ In a bowl, mix chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.

Step 2: Prepare Sugar Syrup
➡️ Boil sugar, water, honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick for 10 minutes.
➡️ Remove from heat and cool slightly.

Step 3: Layer the Phyllo Sheets:
➡️ Buy Phyllo Sheets from the market.
➡️ Brush a 9×13 inch (or size of your baking tray) baking dish with melted butter.
➡️ Place one sheet of phyllo dough, brush lightly with butter.
➡️ Repeat this process for 8–10 sheets to form the base.

Step 4: Add Filling:
➡️ Spread a thin layer of the nut mixture.
➡️ Add 2–3 buttered phyllo sheets, then another layer of nuts.
➡️ Continue layering until nuts are used up.
➡️ Finish with 8–10 buttered phyllo sheets on top.
➡️ Using a sharp knife, cut into diamond or square shapes before baking.

Step 5: Baking
➡️ Bake for 45–50 minutes at 350°F, or until golden brown and crisp.

Step 6: Pour Syrup Over Baklava:
➡️ Once out of the oven, immediately pour warm syrup over hot baklava.
➡️ Let it soak and cool completely before serving.
