If you told me you hate Brussels sprouts, this is the recipe I’d make to change your mind. These are crispy roasted Brussels sprouts with tempe bacon and garlic and lemon whipped tahini, and it’s insanely delicious. Welcome back to season 2 of my series, Voracious Vegetable Lovers. These recipes will transport you to the wonderful world of loving your vegetables. This is tempe. We’re oven roasting it on a sheetpan with the Brussels sprouts. We’re tossing it with smoked paprika and we’re crisping it up to give it a bacon vibe. It’s meaty and satisfying, but it’s lower in fat and calories and higher in protein than regular bacon. While those are roasting, we’ll combine some maple syrup and soy sauce for a quick glaze, which we’ll drizzle over the top. And we’ll return it to the oven to caramelize and get crispy. Then we’ll just whip up a lemon and garlic tahini sauce.

  3. I love vegetables in most states. Brussels Sprouts are no different. Brassicas are delicious. I appreciate that you are trying to find a way to appeal to the non vegetable eaters, but this would mask the heck out of the irony flavor of the sprouts. Have you ever tried sprouts shredded and made like coleslaw? Amazing also. I will try your recipe though, I think regular bacon for me though. Keep up the good work!
