I saw on another thread that Home Depot was clearing out the joes, wanted one and the location nearby had one new in a crate. They deliver for free and now they are telling me they cannot come get it to take it back. At this point its either Kamado or the credit card chargeback to fix it.

  1. The hell they can’t. I bought a large tool chest from them that they helped load into my truck. I was able to unload it myself only to find out it was totally messed up after unboxing. Probably happened on the ship it came over on. I called and told them it’s broken, not damage I could have possibly done, and had no way to get it back into my truck to return it. I had to wait for a manager to call me but they ended up sending their local delivery people out.

I suppose you may want to reach out to KJ anyway to get a warranty as opposed to HD just taking it back. They might not have one to replace it

I agree that you should reach out to Kamado Joe and see what they’re willing to do about it. There’s a good chance that they’ll send you replacements for everything that’s broken. It certainly doesn’t hurt to ask. That way you can still get a grill at the sale price.

You also have every right to be pissed and if you don’t want a warranty replacement, then you need to ask for the store manager and maybe district manager. They don’t get to send you a box of shattered ceramic and keep your money

Take lots of pictures. Call seller first to give them the chance to do the right thing. If they don’t, dispute the charge with your card company. Also some cards offer insurance with any purchase, so check on that as well.
