Because it could be, but it does not look like ribeye to which I am accustomed.

That’s a Chuck… all day long. not even chuckeye steak… just chuck roast cut.

Not “bad” by any means. It can make a delicious steak. But it should only cost 1/2 of a ribeye.

It’s mislabeled, sometimes it’s worth checking the ribeyes, looking for one mislabeled chuck. Sometimes a
” friend of the store” finds these deals.

  3. Apparently the butcher isn’t a meat expert either🤪 it’s chuck

Also has a sell by date of a more than a week ago.

This is the polar opposite of people posting a rib eye for a cheaper price. Someone’s gonna get got on this

Value Pack chuck at $13 a lb is the real crime here.

  7. AMDeez_nutz

Sadly they’re both around the same price now

That is a chuck roast. Stuffed with gold it seems 🤔

  9. Haha, it’s winco! Not the highest bar…. Butcher would have no motive to scam people, I’m sure was not paying attention

It isn’t quite priced like a ribeye, but it isn’t quite priced like a chuck roast either.

Definitely mislabeled. Let the workers know. I’ve seen new hires (non meat-cutter) mess up at the labeling machine and it’s not caught until someone else checks up on the case lol.

Meat prices are out of control, big time. Wife bought the cheapest chuck roast in the store. 1 inch thick..$30.00…..i see a pork loin in my future…..same way with chips..half filled, medium size bag of Frito lay chips for $7.00. pass….Frito wants me to eat healthier….thanks, I think I will

I had a discussion last week with a Whole Foods meat counter person as to the difference between skirt and flap and he asked me what part of the pig that was from.

that’s not even chuck eye. just chuck roast.

Someone inputted the wrong upc in the machine when wrapping it. The Beef Ribeye Steak VP is likely 1210 in their machine, they put 1268 in the price, which is likely the code for a Chuck Roast, not a good buy, since those are usually like 9 bucks a pound.

The rib eye has this circle , the eye, with a tip over it. Easy to identify.

The chuck is right next to the ribeye cut so the butcher probably thought he could get away with it since the chuck and ribeye are “meat cousins”
