Huddle up cousins. I’mma teach y’all how to make a cucumber and tomato salad. If you never had this, that mean you wasn’t at your grandma house enough, okay? But it’s pretty simple. You got to be It’s got to be a Louisiana or a southern thing, okay? But first, you going to get you some fresh tomatoes. Get you some tomatoes. Make sure you wash your vegetables, okay? With your little nasty self. Wash your vegetables. Wash your tomato. You’re going to cut that up. Cut it up any way you want. It don’t even matter. And yes, I do have a potato peeler that I could use to do this. Why I chose to go the harder route, I don’t even know cuz just keep up with me. You then you’re going to cut up your cucumbers. Like I said, cut it up either way you want. All right, cut that up. Then next, after you do that, you’re going to add back in your tomatoes. Mix it up a little bit. Give it up a little mix. Mix it all up together. I don’t know why my cucumbers was giving me problems. I was having technical difficulties, y’all. But guess what? I got it together. So after you have mixed that up, you’re going to hit your cuc cucumbers and tomatoes with a little seasoning. I like to use Tony Sasher or whatever creole season you like to use. It really don’t matter. Then you’re going to hit it with that white vinegar. Once you hit it with that white vinegar, baby, this is how it turned out. So good.

  1. My grandma used to make hers the same way all except she used lowrys instead of cajun seasoning. Either way is good, ive done it this way too. Ive also swapped out the vinegar for both lemon and lime juice and theyre both wins as well. Thats the beauty of cooking, the same meal can be made so many different ways to suit your unique taste.

  2. This is excellent with purple onion and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing… Love the Louisiana accent!

  3. My grandmother is from Mississippi, but she wasn't there since the 1940s. However, we don't use cajun. Maybe because my grandmother doesn't do spicy and me either. Plus, im in Chicago, and my grandmother has been deceased since the 80s. Our family still makes this salad, and it's 🔥 (without onions) because I just started eating them recently, and i like them cooked. 😊
