I have definitely had worse for dinner before! I recently visited a shop with a great tinned fish selection, and decided to try my first Matiz tin.
First off – what a beautiful tin. The packaging is clean and simple, and the fish is no different. The oil is a stunning gold, and each fish was packed in tight, but done without ruining the integrity of the meat. The fish was succulent and buttery, without any overly “fishy” taste. Plenty of skin, bones, and tail if you’re into that (I am). A few scales here and there but it didn’t distract from the meal.
Alongside is a pantry staple: Trader Joe’s Giant Baked Beans, toasted sandwich bread, and my first Espinaler, which was also quite good.
I would recommend these guys, especially at the price point I paid ($6).

No Chianti? Looks good to me
Gadam those are some big-ass beans
I had the same meal for breakfast today – just different brands! Wild Planet deens and Paliria beans. Delish.
How are the Matiz sardines?
