One of the underrated perks of living in Japan: sashimi hookups
My brother-in-law has connections through his work to the local fish market here in Miyagi prefecture. Every year he sends my wife and me some super nice tuna sashimi
Sashimi in Japan really is a treat. So many of us are landlocked or in urban areas where the seafood has to travel to get to us. When I visit Japan I’m just amazed at the freshness and the ability to get fresh versions of fish that only come pickled and frozen normally.
