PHOENIX – Luna Grill, a California-based Mediterranean restaurant chain, is holding a grand opening celebration Tuesday at its first Arizona location.

The fast-casual eatery is part of a new shopping center in Mesa’s Eastmark neighborhood at 9317 E. Ray Road, east of Ellsworth Road.

The first 100 customers after doors open at 11 a.m. will receive a free bowl and exclusive Luna hat. In addition, former and active-duty military members can get a free bowl Tuesday in honor of Veterans Day.

The following offers are also part of the grand opening:

Loyalty members will get double points on all purchases throughout opening week.
Kids with rewards members who purchase of an adult entrée can eat free with in-restaurant service through the end of the year.
Diners who order through the restaurant’s app in November can get a free bowl reward in December.

“Arizona has been our number one most-requested market, so we’re bringing the heat with our grand opening promotions,” Billy Grenham, chief marketing officer at Luna Grill, said in a press release. “Once you taste the difference, you’ll have your ‘ah-ha’ moment. Luna is all about real, cooked-to-order food made from clean ingredients that truly fuel you. We’re so excited to launch in Mesa.”

What’s on the menu at Luna Grill?

Luna Grill was founded in San Diego in 2004 and has 54 locations in Southern California, Dallas-Fort Worth and now Arizona.

The chain’s menu features a variety of flame-grilled kabobs, signature bowls, crisp salads, fresh pitas and family meals.

The Mesa restaurant opening is part of a larger expansion planned for the Grand Canyon State. Another Valley location is in the works at South Tempe Square, a shopping center under construction at Rural and Warner roads.

Luna Grills are also expected to open in Avondale, Gilbert and Phoenix in 2026, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.

“More people today are looking for food that fuels them — meals made with clean ingredients that help them feel good and live well,” CEO Rich Pinnella said in the release. “That’s been our mission from day one, and we can’t wait to share that mission with Arizona.”
