Today in the U.S. is veteran’s day where we celebrate and show appreciation for all of the brave soldiers who have fought for our country.

I would like to thank Bela for all they do for the veteran community and tinned fish lovers.

I was going to post this anyway today and realized I don’t have a Bela review posted here.

Bela sardines in evoo, with piri-piri and smoke flavor.
Sardines, evoo, piri-piri, natural piri-piri flavor, natural smoke flavor, salt.

So this is one of my favorite tins. Price is nice, and the fish is delish…sorry couldn’t help myself.

Three nice big bois in the tin. Smell is a little smoke, little olive oil, and a little sardine.

The pilchards being from Portugal are delicious. They are nice and tender but firm enough to stay together. No dry bites in the tin. I think the gorgeous and delicious organic extra virgin olive oil is a great ingredient at this price point (less than $5 a tin). I particularly like this brand for the smoke flavor. Yes I know they aren’t smoked and it’s smoked flavor but to me it’s still a welcome addition. No scales, no tails, no real bone crunch. A great deen to be had at a great price.

Thank you too all who have served and grab yourself a can of Bela and deen on!

Love Belas. They were my daily driver before discovering this sub, and sardine YT, and subsequently buying one or two cans of everything else (or so my wife says).

And look – I love Nuri, and FMS, and little smoked sprats and mackerel and octopus and cod liver and all that – but Bela is still my daily driver.
