So received my box and a packet of sauce exploded all over everything. Complete mess, leaking all over the herbs and potatoes covered in liquid. I threw out the potatoes. I’m down a packet of sauce for my meal. I did the on-line help and they credited me a whole $3.49 for the meal. WWYD? I don’t have my potatoes and the convenience of making a meal is now out the door so I will improvise.
This hasn’t happened to me in awhile. Honestly, I’ve been using Hello Fresh for 3 years and might have an issue twice a year, if that, so I get sometimes this happens.

Make more of a stink, the meal is ruined; shouldve asked for a refund for the meal and sent these pics

  2. Potatoes grow in dirt. I would have just washed them off.

Just do the chat thing and talk to a customer service person to get a full refund for the meal.

I would have rinsed off the potatoes and make a sauce from the bazillion recipies online. Adapt and overcome!

I kinda think you overreacted a smidge. I think the refund was justified. But the sauce doesn’t seem like an integral part of the meal. I would have just rinsed off the potatoes and herbs, they would have needed to be washed anyway. If everything else was still good, I would have just made the meal without the sauce.

No. Your meal was entirely affected. Complain better. The purpose of their service is so I don’t have to go to the store or think that hard when I cook, so they need to refund me.

For what it’s worth, I use the self report tool for missing ingredients or things like sauce packets that have busted, but for what I’d consider to be impactful to the entire meal, I call and speak with someone. You’ll normally get a full or larger refund that way. I had a raw meat pack bust open and leak all over everything, and they refunded my entire box.

For how much we’re overpaying, a refund is the bare minimum

Anyone else thinking the brown bags are thinner and less durable during transport lately?

You can and should get a refund for the whole meal by contacting CS, if you personally feel that the whole meal is wasted. Keep whatever is still good and use it to make something else. Sometimes if this happens to me I will use extra ingredients to make a larger serving of another meal later.

  11. You need to click that the whole meal was affected. If for some reason that wasn’t an option, call and they will refund the meal. Having said that, I would still do the meal minus potatoes or come up with a substitute, or pick up potatoes at the grocery store.
