This thing has fed me for over a decade and the lid handle just popped off- the seat for the screw holding it has completely collapsed and the screw itself is loose and not suitable as a handle.

Has anyone had success repairing a lid like this or replacing it? I don't think hot glue will work, cooking with it will melt it

If you’re dead set on repairing it I’d just go to the hardware store and find a handle you like, get some rubber washers to not tighten against the glass when you screw it in and go nuts

Personally, I’d pop that out in the middle and then just get a bolt washer and a nut and run it up through the inside – then use like a wing nut or something like that you can screw on top as the handle. Super janky but it’ll do if you love the pot and don’t wanna replace

Amazon sells replacement knobs. I’ve replaced mine.

Coat what’s left of the nut in a cooking oil to help whats left come apart without contamination risks. You can find some cheap handle off one from a thrift shop and reuse that or try to find one online that looks like it will fit.

If you can get the screw out of the lid, do that. Then go to the hardware store, get a new screw, some rubber washers, and a drawer handle.

  6. Just order a new handle on Amazon which comes with the screws. I did this a few years back due to my handle having a crack. So I decided to get it fixed before it was a bigger issue while I used it.

  7. Apart from buying a replacement knob and screwing it on, you can also just buy entire replacement lids in various sizes

  8. 4-5 bucks on Amazon. Just search for “rival crockpot replacement parts”.

Drawer knobs in the hardware section of Lowe’s or Home Depot

The same thing happened to me and no matter what I’ve tried (brute force, WD40, etc) I can’t get the screw out of the lid. Cheap hardware degrades when it’s repeatedly exposed to high temperatures and high humidity. Don’t go buying a replacement knob until you know you can use it. Or buy a knob that you can epoxy in place over the existing screw end. Replacement lids exist but are expensive.

Amazon carries Rival Crock Pot lid replacements (generic). Just measure the diameter.
