This has not been limited to Massachusetts. I do business throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware and have seen it all over. I know there are likely some small operators on this page, many have probably already heard of and avoided this scam. If you haven't though, I want to bring light to it.

  1. The article linked in your linked article frames it as an act of generosity, selling $60,000 worth of meat.

If someone comes in saying they are buying $60,000 worth of meat to give to the homeless, ask them what organizations they’re working with, and maybe make them come in to pay. Don’t let that payday blind you.

Feel like the credit card company needs to eat that not the owner.

This is tragic as these are the folks least able to absorb the losses-evidenced by the one shop going out of business.

I truly hope they find these men & justice is served!!

8 grand of oxtail and short rib to, give to the homeless?

Nobody is that generous. Not for that much in meat. Should’ve been suspicious as soon as the price was known, let alone for the reason given.
