Hi everyone,

After seeing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tsp2bC0Db8o I realized how ubiquitious slop bowls were in the city and thought it would be kinda fun to make a website featuring the different options in the city. I ended up making it this morning and it turned out better than I was expecting.

I'd love some feedback on https://slopbowl.nyc/ and what features you'd find useful. Some examples are:

  • The ability for users to leave comments. Ex: "Springbone sweet potatoes are dry af", "Sweetgreen salmon is awful", "Bis Bas bowls are the most generous mediterrean bowls with proteins", and "Naya is better than Cava".
  • Ranking different locations of the same chain (the Naya by the Springbone near Madison Park has much worse placement of wet ingredients than the Naya by the Inday by Madison Park).
  • Being able to keep track of what places you've tried.
  • Recommendations on certain BYOB combinations.

And in typical r/circlejerknyc fashion, it only includes Manhattan restaurants to start with and the list isn't exhaustive – just a starter to give some idea of what it would look like.

I'm also aware that this is not needed and absurd but I thought it would be fun to combine some good ol' slop bowls with AI slop.

Would love feedback, BYOB location addition requests, and any feedback on specific restaurants.

Slop on,

Eric
