A new Italian restaurant is coming soon to a location near the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

Macaluso’s Italian Restaurant will occupy the former venue space adjacent to the sports and entertainment facility. The 3,500-square-foot site appealed to the owners for its access to a leased parking lot and its proximity to Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, and Xfinity Mobile Arena.

According to BUCKSCO.TODAY, Joel Gruenke, a Yardley-based real estate agent, has collaborated with restaurateur Mark Anthony D’Andrea to bring the Italian concept to South Philadelphia.

The duo — former roommates at the Valley Forge Military Academy — previously launched a restaurant together in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. D’Andrea’s family legacy of signature Italian cooking, honed over decades at Staten Island’s RoadHouse, will influence the menu at Macaluso’s.

Macaluso’s plans to mirror RoadHouse-style offerings, including a spicy shrimp dish and signature meatballs.
