Besides obvious price, what’s the difference between these 2 machines and which would you recommend and why? thanks!

I prefer the lid mechanism on #2. I’ve owned both.

The Pop has had the worst reviews ever. Vertuo machines are superior. I have had my Vertuo for 11 years now.

Vertuoplus Deluxe hands down. The Pop is just the Next Model with similar issues. I’ve had my DeluxePlus for years and haven’t had an issue.

Pop+ is cheaper They’re like $70-99 on nespresso.com. it’s only more expensive because it comes with a frother here. The other one is an older model (2 generations), but they were $149 when nespresso was selling it.
It’s smaller, so really depends on the space you have. If you have a Costco it’s better to buy the cheap one from there as newer versions tend to have high failure for a while.
~~You can also do carafe coffee with the older one and not the new one.~~
