I started out about a week ago with 6pc ‘Wild’ wings from BWW. I ate 10 today. My goal is the Blazin Knockout (or anything else you guys suggest). I would give these a strong 7 on my spice scale rn. Any tips on how to properly build my tolerance?

  1. If you’re trying to work your way up to blazin, I’d suggest ordering some mango habanero first and see how you do with that. I’d say mango habanero is the second hottest behind Blazin

    Welcome to the club. o7

(Mango habanero is a bit of a cult classic.)

  3. I built slowly. Nothing is worse than swinging for the fences before you are ready and finding yourself in a near death experience 😂.

  4. Oh my god r/wings banned bdubs posts and they’ve come here

Mango habenero is hotter than Wild in my opinion.

Bdubs sucks man! Just looking at those wings brings back memories of disappointment every time I thought “maybe they’ll be better this time.” Never was better

Looks like cafeteria wings from an elementary school

Just takes time and exposure. The more you try and the more you intake the higher the tolerance level will build. Don’t rush it, enjoy the milder sauces while you still can.

  9. When I started building mine, I went to the same taqueria 3 times a week that had habanero salsa. It was legit, not throwing carrots in there to turn it orange with barely any habanero. This stuff was regret your life decisions-hot. I would pick up a burrito on the way home from class mom/wed/fri. Go home, turn on the TV and die while eating it. Mucus coming out of my nose, eyes pouring out tears, forehead sweat the whole shebang. But after a few weeks or months (I don’t remember it was so long ago) I was able to eat it and not look like a poison victim.

Anyway, my recommendation is go big and eat in private for a while then go into public. Also beware of it becoming an addiction. After awhile if it’s not making you sweat, it’s not hot enough.

Mango is their best flavor. I don’t think I need to but I would die on that hill. However, I gotta get some Blazing every time just to make sure I still have it, lol.

For me, what I did to increase my heat tolerance, it was mostly a mind game for me. I just pushed myself to eat as much heat as I could take. Mind over matter.

So for example, if you were me, if you nearly failed eating those 10 wings and couldn’t possibly eat one more, you did good. If not, time to move up.

Consistency is key. If that’s a 7 for you, next time order more wings and ask for them extra wet. You should try to eat spicy everyday if possible. Find a hot sauce that’s almost out of your comfort zone and douse your food with it. But some jalapeños or serranos and try eating one whole. If it’s too much, kick it down to eating a quarter or half of one. Do this everyday and be consistent. Once you start getting used to it, increase the amount or move to the next level. Look up Johnny Scoville spice tolerance.
