I posted this photo is r/Foodbutforbabies and someone said you all might appreciate it.

We love tinned fish in this family and so I was so happy to learn that my 7 month old son also loves tinned fish!! A few times a week we share a tin. This is a simple tin of sardines in water with no salt, the Wild Planet brand.

How old were you all when you started eating sardines? Any recommendations for more low salt options? I’ll expand to the salted variety once he turns 1

I wanted to eat anything my dad ate. I saw him eat sardines, so I wanted to eat sardines. That was about 40 years ago.

Haha I love how he’s holding it!
I started eating tinned fish like sardines and oysters with my dad when I was about 4 or 5. I loved to copy anything he did even if it was something stinky like fish.

His little fist holding the fishie!! I loved watching my little guys eat, so cute. They’re teens now, and not quite so cute when they eat. 🤣💕

Damn I want to not care and grab a fish like that.

I grew up eating tinned fish. I still enjoy them.

It was before I went to kindergarten, so, 4 years old? My mom introduced me to them, and it was love at first bite.

Stupid question but don’t sardines have little fish bones?

  9. My kid loved so many good foods when he was little. Grew out of almost all of them. He’s almost 18 now and there’s a shortlist of things he’ll eat.

I started with tinned mussels when I was around 4-5, because that’s what my grandpa snacked on while he cooked.

Whenever he reached for one, he’d pluck one out for me too.

He’d also occasionally dip a spoon in his rum for me to taste. I didn’t really like it but it felt special from grandpa lol

    (I like it now, tho)
